On the night before the cross, Jesus sat in an upper room with eleven frightened men and gave them everything they would ever need to stand unafraid in the chaos of this world. He did not simply say farewell and walk out the door. He made three specific provisions — and every one of them belongs to you today.
In this message from John 14:25–27, we look at what He provided, why it is sufficient, and what it means to actually stand on what He has already given.
Big Idea: There is no need to hold it together yourself when Christ has already provided everything you need to stand unafraid in this world of chaos.
In This Message:
*Why the Holy Spirit is a person who shows up — not an influence hovering in the background
*The difference between the world's peace and the peace Christ bequeaths
*What the Greek words behind "troubled" and "afraid" reveal about the two ways the heart collapses — and why Jesus addresses both *What it means that this command appears twice in John 14, bookending the entire chapter
