This past Sunday, we concluded our series with a powerful reminder: sharing our faith is not accidental—it is a purposeful choice. Throughout the month, we’ve explored how we are divinely called, how we must plan, and how we are to give. This final message brought us to the heart of the matter: our allegiance.
The question before us is simple yet life-shaping:
Will we fully and faithfully align our lives with the Lord, or will we be swayed by competing allegiances?
Life is full of decisions that reveal what we value most. From where we live to how we spend our time, our choices show our priorities. Scripture reminds us that these decisions are not just logistical—they are spiritual.
Joshua challenged Israel with these words:
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15, KJV)
Every choice we make declares our allegiance.
From Israel’s idolatry in the Old Testament to our modern distractions of comfort, materialism, and diluted devotion, the struggle is the same. Jesus warned:
“No man can serve two masters… Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24, KJV)
Idols—whether money, possessions, or even good things like family or work—begin by desiring our attention. Soon they demand it, then judge us, and eventually punish us. What starts as a blessing can quickly become a burden when it takes God’s place.
Choosing God is not a one-time declaration but a daily decision. Paul said, “I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31, KJV). Each day, sometimes multiple times a day, we must reaffirm our allegiance to Christ.
Satan knows our weaknesses and places temptations before us. But every temptation is also an opportunity to choose God again.
Paul urges us in Romans 12:1–2 (KJV):
“Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
True worship is not found in possessions or idols but in offering our lives fully to God. Our time, talents, and treasure belong to Him.
This calling is not only individual but corporate. As a church family, we are called to share our faith together. When we live with undivided allegiance, our collective witness shines brighter in a world full of competing voices.
Jesus commanded: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15, KJV)
We are not alone in this mission. Together, we encourage, strengthen, and hold one another accountable as we live out our faith.
From the Garden of Eden to today, God has always given His people a choice. Life or death. Blessing or cursing. Allegiance to Him or allegiance to idols.
The call is clear: Choose God. Choose life. Choose to share your faith—together.
